The then National Coal Board (Celtic Energy) had prepared a field but it was far from ready for training purposes in early August. In 1999 players, committee and supporters of the club chipped in loaned the club enough money to buy this field from Celtic Energy. These loans have since been repaid and we now own the field which we use to this day.
