Woodford U13 v Braintree U13
The team went into this fixture with a desire to put right the disappointment of the previous weekend, and they certainly gave it 100%. The 1st half was very much a case of Woodford having to defend some passionate attacking play from B'tree, only to be held up over the try line or the final pass not going to hand with the try line beckoning! This attacking play was built on some solid scrummaging, especially with an obvious weight advantage to the opposition, and good retention of the ball at rucks. The half-time whistle blew, with the only try of the half being scored by B'tree winger Charlie Booty. The 2nd half started and it was Woodford that seemed to come out of the blocks a bit quicker, they had a number of phases in attack, but some solid B'tree defence kept them from scoring. Eventually Woodford's endeavour payed off with 2 tries. The game swung backwards and forwards, but with the end of the game close, B'tree knew they had to go up a gear to at least end the game with a draw, and thankfully they did. Noah Collar spotting a gap in the corner to touch down for a try.
Final score 2-2.
