Maidenhead are the visitors to Floyd Fields as Buckingham look to relaunch this seasons campaign after the Xmas break. However, weather may force yet another postponement with the pitches looking very soggy at the moment. Hopefully a spell of dry weather will give Eric Curtis enough time to get the fields fit and ready to go.
For Buckingham, the break has allowed for many of their injury issues to be resolved and they have almost a full squad to select from. In the front row, Dom Lowbridge, Seth Williams and Tom Heycock start this week with Matt Payne taking a turn on the bench.
The second row welcomes back Pat Ockendon from injury and the exciting young Steve Gibson has forced his way into the side. In the back row, Charlie Smith teams up with Phil Wright and skipper Tom Amos, whilst Jamie Temple provides cover.
In the back line, Andy White has recovered from Tendonitis and forms the half back pairing with Will Kiddle, Andrew Jackson and James Bernard are the midfield and James Hulston and Calum Gillie the wings. Henry Colver makes a welcome return at full back with Sam Clapham on the bench.
Maidenhead edged a thriller earlier in the year when they powered their way into a 19-3 half time lead. However a combination of Buckinghams 'never say die' attitude and poor discipline from Maids, resulting in 4 yellow cards and one red for the Berkshire side, allowed Buck to draw level at 24 all before a last minute penalty won it for the home team.
Conditions may have a huge bearing on the outcome of this game, but lets hope the teams are able to perform and get the season back into swing!!!
