Kate Coppack produced a superb opening spell of pace bowling, which resulted in Stockport Trinity’s innings ending in just the 17th over, as they were dismissed for 45.
Visiting captain, Gill Spragg, won the toss and elected to bat. Her side were on the back foot as soon as the third over as Coppack took the first of her six wickets, all of them clean bowled. There was timber tumbling everywhere, as openers McCann (6) and Royale (0) were joined by White (8), McKeever (1), Harvey (0), and Wicks (0), as Coppack completed her eight overs, four of them maidens, taking 6-15.
Lorna Thomas (2-16) bowled a miserly spell of off-spin from the other end, trapping Kitzinger (8) lbw and bowling Spragg for 6. Hannah Snape (1-0) wrapped up the innings, clean bowling Hart for a duck.
Lorna Starkey and Ali Cutler opened the reply for the home side. After an early scare, as Cutler popped up a chance of a catch, which fortunately, wasn’t taken, Cutler (24no) and Starkey (8no) led their side home to a 10 wicket victory as they reached 49-0 in the 11th over.
