About the team

Coldfield Rangers FC were formed in 2009 by a group of friends and entered the Birmingham AFA in the bottom tier.

Their first season was a successful beginning and saw them finish just outside the automatic promotion places, however league restructuring saw them put into Division Seven.

The next two seasons (2010/11 and 2011/12) became a war of attrition in more ways than simply facing difficult opposition. The management, recruitment and training all came under the spotlight and the survival of the club was brought into question.
Coldfield won Division Six in 2012/13 and were promoted to Division Three, before the club was dealt an unlucky hand which resulted in the remaining members being left in Division Seven despite winning the title the year before.
However, the spirit in the core group stayed strong and has now been complimented by an influx of talented new players assembling alongside veterans of the club all under the guidance of founding father Mark Birmingham.
Season 2015/16 saw CRFC compete in Division 5 after a good season the year before. However, injuries and inconsistent lineups meant we finished below our expectations and levels.
2016/17 CRFC promoted from Division 5, with the best defence in the league, and the least defeats.
Season 2017/18 was another season of promotion, but we fell below our own high standards. Injuries, key personnel missing and inconsistent form saw us finish 4th, with only six defeats all season, and again a tight defence but lack of goals and naive game management cost us silverware and automatic promotion.

Coldfield Rangers are starting this season as high as the club has ever been, in Division 3. This promises to be the brightest season in CRFC's history with a talented and capable squad of 20 plus, united by football, and a strong management team led by Player-manager Mark Birmingham, and ably assisted by Assistant Management Callum Sheerin.
