Club History

Continental FC History

Continental Football Club is a predominantly black team, which was founded in 1958 and makes us one of, if not the oldest black club in Britain. During this time we have won virtually every trophy we entered in, including the London Senior Cup three times. We have been runners up in the Middlesex County Senior Cup and reached the quarterfinals of the prestigious FA Sunday National Cup, which was an achievement in itself considering the lack of resources.

We were considered one of the best black teams in Southern England during the mid to late ‘80s, as most of the players played semi–professional. Most of the original players have now retired and the team has gone through a transition period whereby we have introduced a blend of experience and youth in the side and are still winning trophies in major cup competitions.

During our illustrious history we have paved the way for many black youngsters to move onto semi professional and professional clubs and still have players who can influence these decisions for players to progress to that higher level.

We believe that the experience and knowledge of the senior players is helping youngster’s progress in the sport and also helping with their focus on life in general.
