After looking at the results of the league, we were intrigued to see that Chippenham 6 have previously beat Chippenham 5, so we knew we were going to be in for a tough match. It was a sad start as Beverley hung up her trainers, but we welcomed Louise on the sidelines, tied our laces and pulled our thermals on.

We lost the toss, but no fear, Milly got the first interception of many and we managed to turn the first centre into a goal. Corsham pulled ahead and although Chippenham finished the quarter strongly, we went into the first break with a 7 goal lead. Lyndsay and Jaz having exceptional link up play in attack and Milly and Simone formidable in defence.

Our second quarter was strong, a great interception from Lorna led to another turnover goal and Corsham were on their way. Sam produced some quick fire balls into the goal circle and Lyndsay and Jaz did not miss. Corsham went into halftime with confidence high and feeling strong.

The dreaded third quarter!!!! Corsham brought on Susannah for some fresh legs in mid court. And as usual, Corsham were slow to react to the restart. Chippenham had a renewed sense of purpose and their supporters definitely helped to boost their confidence and play. Corsham managed to finished the quarter with a 3 goal lead...... luckily!

Corsham were motivated to win the game. We knew we just had to convert our centres and the game was ours. We managed to hold it together and Lyndsay added to the confidence of the team by getting some phenomenal shots in. Milly was outstanding throughout and did not lose energy or focus. Corsham win 37-34. Phew!

A great game by all and thanks to our supporters. An incredible performance by Milly Brown who most deservedly won player of the match.
