Updated 2017 Fixture List

Coventry Dragons are thrilled to announce an updated fixture list for 2017 with some very exciting ties lined up.

Following the withdrawal of both Telford Raiders and Sherwood Wolfhunt from the Midlands Premier Division the league was left with some massive holes. A shake up of the fixture list will now see us play Northampton Demons, Leicester Rooster and Leamington Royals 3 times with a bonus round added to even up the home and away games. This had originally left the club with some free weekends to fill which will now be used to compete against some international and professional opposition.

First up for the Dragons will be Keighley Cougars Reserves on Sunday June 25th. The Dragons will travel up north to Cougar Park to play Keighley Reserves in what will be a curtain raiser for the League 1 game that will take place between York and Keighley. This promises to be an extremely tough task for the Dragons but will provide an insight into where the team stands in comparison to other northern teams.

The second free weekend has been kindly assisted by Coventry Bears and will be a further curtain raiser before the League 1 game against North Wales Crusaders on July 15th at Butts Park Coventry. The opposition is yet to be confirmed for this game however expect another eye watering fixture.

The final free weekend of 2017 will see us line up against GB Police Rugby League. The police are preparing for a tour of Canada in September and will be using this as a warm up game and will once again provide the Dragons with an insight into their current playing level. The game will be held in Rochdale on August 5th.
