Touney 2016 Team Preview - Crescents Tigers!
End of Season Tournament 5 of 6

5. Touney 2016 Team Preview - Crescents Tigers!

As Katy Perry says.... "You're gonna hear me ROOOOOOAAAARRRRR" The 5th team in the tournament this year are the Crescents Tigers!

Captain: The Tigers will roar into action lead by the young 19 year old captain Rajib Kumar Sil. The 22 year old Bangladeshi native is the first foreign captain in Crescent Tournament history. He will use all the experience that comes with being a 28 year old veteran of the club. Rumour has it that the 32 year old captain has produced a 56 strategy dossier that MBA graduates Mohammed Majam and Azhar Said are trying to decipher. Raj's biggest challenge will be managing not the team but Messrs Majam and Said. At 43, he is the oldest captain in the tournament and will look to garner the respect he deserves from his merry men.

Strengths: The Tigers line up boasts a very strong batting line up with power hitters throughout. It will require some of the big name batsmen to come good if they are going to seriously contend for the title.

Weaknesses: Whilst the batting line up is strong, the Tigers are short on quick bowling options. With no out and out tearaway fast bowler in their ranks, they will need to rely on the guile of spinners, Ridis, Merc, Azhar and others.

Big Name Signings: Signings don't get much bigger than Mohammed Majam. And no, we are not talking about his cricket capabilities, but rather his actual size. With 3 Crescents Tournament stars under his belt, Moemz will be looking to add 4th title, and in doing so claim a hat-trick. He has a thing for these events. Other big signings are the wiley Samir Ellary and Ridwaan Majam who along with Rajib Kumar bring a lot of senior cricket experience.

Who to watch out for: The man everyone will be watching out for in his Tournament debut is Ebrahim Kotwal. The youngster will have to take off his ihram after leaving the 4th holiest city in the Islamic world, Azaadville, pass through passport control and hope to reach Kibler Park in time for the first game. He is coming back from injury that has kept him out of cricket for the last few months. His all-round capabilities will be called upon if the Tigers are to win it. Also, watch out for Tameem Padayachee who is rumoured to hit a loooooong ball.

Pundit Prediction: Semi-Finals
