1. A Message from Lisa Haggitt, our Club Safeguarding Officer (CSO)

Hello, my name is Lisa Haggitt and I am the Safeguarding Officer for Droitwich RFC.
I have two rugby playing sons. Tim, my youngest plays at Droitwich RFC.

Here at Droitwich RFC, we take the welfare of young people very seriously. As a parent you will no doubt, like me, want your child to enjoy their involvement in rugby union in a safe, friendly atmosphere where there are opportunities to learn and develop rugby skills while also having fun.

The RFU Safeguarding Policy sets out how organisations and individuals (whether as a parent, coach, spectator or club official) should work together to achieve a safe environment in rugby union. It is my job as Safeguarding Officer to ensure everyone shares the responsibility for safeguarding by adhering to this policy.
The Policy statement is based on the following key principles:
• The welfare of the child is paramount;
• All participants regardless of age, gender, ability or disability, race, faith, size, language or sexual identity, have the right to protection from harm;
• All allegations, suspicions of harm and concerns will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly, fairly and appropriately;
• Everyone will work in partnership to promote the welfare, health and development of children.

Droitwich RFC operates strictly within all the RFU Rules and Guidelines.  If you have any questions on any of the information here, or indeed on any aspect of child welfare, or if you are a child who wishes to raise a problem at Droitwich RFC please contact me on 07985510679 or lisahaggitt@btinternet.com. Alternatively I can be found this season on match day’s pitch side with the U15 team.
All information will be treated according to the confidentiality protocols required by safeguarding principles.
Here’s to an enjoyable season
Lisa Haggitt
