The tournament and match rules are there to ensure everyone enjoys the tournament in a safe and friendly manor. Please read them carefully, so you understand the expectation of Tournament and Match officials and enjoy your day. Key information will be passed to your club and manager for easy reference after registration.

1. Purpose

1.1 The purpose of the tournament is to promote adult grassroots football in a safe, fun, friendly and inclusive environment within the community. Please ensure you play your part in this.

2. Registration

2.1 All teams are required to register their team(s) information in full. There is a maximum of two teams per club.

2.2 A team manager for each side must be nominated. A team manager can also be a player but can not manage more than one team in the competition. A team manager will be required to attend on the day of the tournament.

2.3 The club secretary must be named for each team. This role can be used for multiple teams if they are associated with the same club and will be used for administration purposes. This role is not required to attend on the day of the tournament.

2.3 All teams are required to be adult male teams affiliated with the FA and provide their affiliation number to ensure they are covered for public liability insurance.

2.4 All teams will be asked to pay their non-refundable entry fee of £80 upon acceptance of their registration. This will need to be transferred to FC Revo directly.

3. Groups & Fixture Rules

3.1 Groups will consist of five teams. Seedings and group selection will be conducted by White Horse FC club committee in a fair manor within the best interest of the competition.

3.2 Fixtures will be published in advance with the objective of trying to ensure no team plays back to back games without a break.

3.3 Teams finishing top of their league and second will progress onto the Champions knockout. Teams finishing third will progress into the intermediate knockout stages. Teams that finish fourth and fifth in their group divisions will be eliminated.

3.4 With a full tournament subscription, each team will be guaranteed four group matches.

3.5 Points for group stage matches will be awarded as follows
- Loss = 0 points
- Draw = 1 points
- Win = 3 points

3.6 League positions will be ranked in descending order with the team scoring the highest total of points at the top. Positions of teams that are level on points will be ranked higher based on the following criteria, in the order shown

- Goal difference
- Goals scored
- Result of the fixture played between the teams

If the above criteria are all equal, position will be decided by the toss of a coin by team managers

4. Tournament Day Rules

4.1 Teams managers are required to register at 10am (30 minutes before the first scheduled KO) regardless of their fixtures times.

4.2 Teams should be ready to play their fixtures at the allocated pitch and time. Late arrival could mean your match result is awarded to the opposition.

4.3 Each team should have a change of shirt colour or distinct bibs brought to each match that can be worn in case of a clash of kits. Team colours will be shown in advance along with fixtures. All players must wear football shirts, shorts, socks and shin pads (no pads, no play). Goalkeepers area permitted to wear bottoms if required.

4.4 Squads can have of a maximum of 9 players and must have a minimum of 6.

4.5 FA Respect guidelines will be in place throughout the day. There should be a clear and high level of respect between all players, coaches, mangers, match officials, event organisers, volunteers and site staff at all time. Clear breaches of the code of conduct on or off the pitch will be taken seriously and individuals or teams may be asked to leave the event.

4.6 Both teams involved in matches will be required to report the match results to the admin station.

5. Match Rules

5.1 Captains will be required to complete a Respect handshake before each match.

5.2 Change of kit and playing ends will be decided by the match official. Kick-off will be decided by the toss of a coin.

5.3 Matches will be 10 minutes in length (late teams, kit clashes, waiting on players will affect your game time)

5.4 All matches will be played in accordance with The Football Associations of England Rules of the Game (Adults) with the following exceptions

Players: Each team can only field a maximum of 6 players (5 outfield and one goalkeeper) on the pitch during play.

Substitutions: Roll-on/off substitutions can take place during any break in play by informing the match official. Players must enter/exit from behind the goal they are defending.

Goal kicks: Goal kicks can be taken from any area within the penalty area (semi-circle)

Free-kicks: The distance for defending players is a minimum of 5 yards for any direct or indirect free-kick including the start of play.

Penalties: Penalties are to be taken from the mark on the pitch and are limited to one step before striking the ball.

Tackles: Slide tackles are not allowed and will be punished by a direct free-kick. Repeat offenders will be sanctioned with a yellow card.

Offside: There is no offside.

Yellow Cards: A yellow card will result in a 5-minute sin bin and the player will be banned from participating in the next match. The referee will officiate the timing of the sin bin. A second yellow card in the same game will result in a red card and sanctions will apply (see below). A second yellow card in a different match will result in the same sanctions as the first yellow card. After that match the player will not be allowed to participate in any further matches.

Red Cards: A red card will result in the player being sent from the pitch and not being allowed to participate in any further matches

5.5 Match officials will have same powers as laid out in the Laws of Association Football. The referee’s interpretation of the tournament rules is final. Any cards will be recorded with the usual disciplinary procedure in place. Players who are suspended for a match (yellow card) or suspended from the tournament (red card) are not allowed into match areas or onto the playing surfaces under any circumstances for the duration of their ban.

5.6 In the result of a draw in semi-final and final games, the result of the match will be determined by penalties. Usual rules for penalty shoot outs apply with the addition of the one-step rule.

6. General

6.1 The setup of the tournament is based on 20 teams entering and participating on the day. If teams drop out due to unforeseen circumstances the host club will endeavour to replace them with additional affiliated teams to meet the desired tournament capacity. In the case this isn’t possible, the tournament or a group format may change to benefit and facilitate matches for teams who would miss out due to cancelled fixtures. The host club will not be responsible for changes deemed out of its control.

6.2 Group & Fixture Rules (3), Tournament Rules (4), & Match Rules (5) may change due to unforeseen circumstances or to benefit the match-day experience. In the event of any changes, these will be flagged to all clubs registered at the earliest opportunity.

6.3 We plan to make the event as paperless as possible. Please ensure you only print what is necessary for the day. All information will be available online, including rules, fixtures, tables and results.

6.4 We want to create a positive tournament in a safe, fun, friendly and inclusive environment. Please ensure you play your part in making the day a success.
