The Ferry Mechanics were born of a drunken evening in the Post Office Bar, BROUGHTY FERRY, Dundee in May 1996. They were raised in opposition to the Desperadoes, a team that also originated in the Ferry but is now polluted by outsiders from as far afield as Forfar and Liff. The strict recruiting policy of the Mechanics was to be that only those living within the bounds of Broughty Ferry would be allowed to pull on the hallowed jersey. Although at this point there wasn't a team nevermind jerseys.
