Since 1967, the George Washington Rugby Football Club has used rugby to bring together students from diverse backgrounds and playing experiences. Though many of the players on the team come out with some rugby experience, many of our best players have started off their rugby careers having never touched a rugby ball. The club welcomes any student who is committed to excellence both on the field and in our community, regardless of athletic background.

Anyone who is interested in playing rugby at GW is encouraged to come to out to one of our practices. We practice at 23rd and Constitution on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5-7 pm for the majority of each semester. The first practice and any changes in practice information will be posted.

Players should bring a mouth guard, cleats and water to every practice. Though cleats specifically available for rugby are available, in most cases soccer cleats and football cleats without the toe spike are fine.

If you have any questions feel free to email Andrew Dewy at andrewcdewey@gwmail.gwu.edu.
