What is tag rugby?
Tag rugby is a non-contact version of the game where players wear a belt with two velcro tags. Instead of tackling, defenders pull a tag to stop the ball carrier. It's fast, fun, and perfect for children who are new to rugby or not yet ready for contact. All our U6, U7 and U8 sessions are tag rugby.
What is contact rugby?
Contact rugby is introduced gradually from U9 onwards, following the RFU's structured player pathway. Children learn how to tackle and be tackled safely, under close supervision from qualified coaches. Safety is our absolute priority and no child is rushed into contact before they're ready.

Parent FAQ
Does my child need to have played rugby before?
Not at all. The majority of children who join us have never played before. Our coaches start from scratch and every child progresses at their own pace.
What kit does my child need?
For the first session, just bring trainers and clothes they can run around in. Once your child joins, we'll point you toward club kit but nothing needs to be bought before that first visit.
Is contact rugby safe for young children?
Yes. Younger age groups (U6–U8) play tag rugby with no contact at all. Contact is introduced gradually from U9 onwards, always under qualified coaching supervision.
How much does it cost to join?
Trial sessions are completely free. Annual membership fees are very reasonable, contact us for current rates. We never want cost to be a barrier to joining.
Can we just turn up, or do we need to book?
You're welcome to just turn up for your first session. Booking ahead helps us prepare but is never required, just introduce yourself to one of the coaches.
Do you need volunteers or team managers?
Always. Every age group needs a team manager to coordinate fixtures and communicate with parents. It's a rewarding role and full support is provided, get in touch to find out more.
Ready to give it a go?
Free trial sessions run every Sunday in September. No kit, no experience or commitment needed. But we're sure your kids will love it.
