Colin joined the club in 1964 when he moved to the area from Barnstaple in Devon, where he had been capped on the wing for England Schoolboys. He played for our 1st XV at centre, fly-half and full-back and captained the side 1n 1968/69 and again halfway through 1971/72 when the then captain moved away. Once retired from the senior side, he would regularly play for one of our junior sides when required, always encouraging the younger players around him. He became Club Coach in 1983/84 and again later that decade and was always ready to assist with coaching at other times when the need arose. In recognition of his efforts, he was made a Vice-President of the club in 1981.

He will be sadly missed and our thoughts and condolences go out to his family.

His funeral will take place in the Cypress Chapel at Stockport Crematorium on Monday 24th February at 12 noon.
