It is all about the development of the players at Under 9 level and not worrying too much about the results win, lose or draw. On reflection of the season the boys have progressed a huge amount individually and as a team. We are pleased to have helped 4 players into the Exeter City Academy this season adding to Jack Fanning who made the progression last season. Our congratulations go to Bradley Butterfield, Finley Lambden, Joel Jackson & Max Pullum who go into that set up with our absolute blessing and pride that they started their learning with Heavitree Youth. The team have been instilled with a passing philosophy but the boys are also encouraged to make their own decisions on the pitch. Throughout the season the team have been complimented on the way they play from opposition coaches and parents and it has been said many times that they are the best footballing team in the age division.
We insisted for this season that the team played from the back at every opportunity and every single player has taken this on board and have improved their ability as a result. I am not going to talk about many of the results on this summary apart from one - The players made it through to the Plate Cup Final after tearing apart the opposition in the qualifying rounds in blistering fashion showing that the quality of the football was reaching new heights. The Final was played at the home of the Grecians - St James Park - and the players didn't show any nerves and showed the crowd how to play the Heaviree way eventually lifting the cup in a thrilling 2-1 win over Twyford Spartans.

Unfortunately we say farewell to another two players of the cup winning squad who leave us to join Pinhoe Gladiators. Both Tyler Langdon and Dom Boots-Hutchings are another two players who have come on leaps and bounds over the last 3 seasons and we wish them every success in the future.

We welcome Charlie Rawlings & Joel Hunt into the Bulls side for the U10 season where things start to get a little more competitive. Both have shown their ability for the Tigers in the past season and with a bit of time will fit into the Bulls side perfectly. Even though its a little more competitive next season we will still play the Heavitree way and be looking for improvement from the players both individually and collectively.

UP THE BULLS!!!
