On Wednesday 27th of March we took an over 60's team to Meriden to play 7-A-Side Walking Football against Buntingford, Cedars/Bushey and Watford.
Unfortunately this turned out to be a disappointing day with the team being beaten in all three games despite having more shots on goal than two of the three sides we played.

First up was Buntingford who we know to be a very good team. Despite the game being fairly even Buntingford took their opportunities and won 2-0.

Second was Cedars/Bushey, this game saw us score our first goal of the afternoon through Brian Kemp with a great finish. Again we did not defend properly and ended up losing 2-1.

Finally we played Watford, Steve Maynard scoring for us bt more sloppy defending saw us lose this one 3-1.

Unfortunately the tale of these games was that we did not defend well enough whilst not taking the numerous opportunities that came our way. We will dust ourselves down and look forward to putting the record straight in April.

On Sunday 21st January Hemel's Happy Feet took two 7-A-Side Walking Football squads to play against three Uxbridge Amblers sides at Hillingdon Sports & Social Club. The Uxbridge Amblers are a large well established club having already won competitions previously. Unfortunately it snowed from the moment we left the club until after we had finished playing the four games each of our sides played. Although no league tables were generated both of our sides were very competitive with the 'A' team winning 2, drawing one and losing one of their games and the 'B' team winning two and drawing two of their four games.
Upon completion of the football the two squads joined the players from Uxbridge Amblers in their clubhouse for some post match hospitality and very good it was too!

Next up for Hemel's Happy Feet is a return game against 'The Many Shades of Grey' from Havant & Waterlooville. Having played our first game before the 1st team fixture back in November (we lost that game 3-4). The return game will be played on Saturday 24th February before the corresponding 1st team game.
