It’s a return to HA4 and The Middlesex Stadium but for the first time this campaign we attempt to make our mark in cup action. Following our weekend’s defeat, a quick turnaround and keeping morale high will be imperative in setting off on the right foot.
THE DETAILS
Hillingdon Borough v Brimsdown First
Middlesex FA Premier Cup First Round
The Middlesex Stadium, Ruislip, HA4 7SB
7:45pm Kick off, Tuesday 30th September
CONTEXT
Following our two games away stint, Combined Counties league action is put on hold as we kick off in the Middlesex FA Premier Cup. However, momentum won’t be a cause for interruption as Gary Pitt remains eager to make his mark in our rapidly approaching cup journey.
With last fixture leaving Molesey to take all three points, The Boro remain hungry to build as a squad becoming more established week by week. A quick turnaround into mid-week football stands as another opportunity for us to continue our promising form, and embark on what hopes to be an exciting cup run.
It’s Brimsdown who have to make the 25-mile journey tonight as the club situated in Hertfordshire will travel under their manager Emmanuel N’daw in hopes of putting up a challenge for ourselves. The Brims sit 4th in their respective league, and put in an impressive run of eight games unbeaten, a target for The Boro to put to bed this evening.
While we are yet to cross paths with Brimsdown, it’s a new challenge for Gary Pitt and his side to encounter and capitalise on, with the ultimate aim this evening to advance into round two and have momentum swinging in favour upon our return to the league at home this Saturday.
“With our league momentum ramping up, todays ambitions will be to ensure this can be carried over into the cup as we return home following our most recent defeat to Molesey. With this cup fixture being at home, it’s pivotal to start things off in the right manner and be able to put up a fight so we can continue our journey as a freshly renewed squad. I’m looking forward for the upcoming challenge against Brimsdown, I hope we can put in a good contest, and I wish them all the best.”
