THE DETAILS
Molesey vs Hillingdon Borough FC
Cherry Red Records Combined Counties Football League
The Herds Renault Stadium, Walton Rd, Molesey KT8 2JG
3:00pm Kick off, Saturday 20th September
CONTEXT
Following our recent and rapidly improving results, The Boro take to the road once again as Gary Pitt attempts to make this form a regular occurrence. Two wins and two draws from the last six games provide a completely different picture to the opening month of our campaign, and a picture that aims to be preserved.
Our upcoming fixture comes off the back of our first two wins of the season against Berks County and FC Deportivo Galicia respectively. However, another week’s turnaround and we’re back on the road and Surrey bound to face Molesey FC.
This weekend’s opponents are situated in the town of Molesey, with their ground just 5 minutes from Hampton Court Palace. The Surrey based side sit 20th in the table compared to our recently improved position of 18th in the league.
Last year’s half to half ended in a share of points. Our opening fixture against Molesey was hosted at The Middlesex Stadium, ending in 3 points for us and a result of 1-0. However, it was this weekend’s opponents who got the better of results at the return fixture, as a month later in October of last year, Molesey took their half of the six points up for grabs with a 4-0 win at their home ground; a result The Boro will try to steer very clear from.
Peter Doherty brings his experience to the touchline this weekend for Molesey as Gary Pitt will take his Boro to The Herds Renault stadium in anticipation of another positive result.
“We’re two wins on the bounce here at Hillingdon and I couldn’t have hoped for a better month for the club. Granted our results haven’t been perfect, but with a side who played for the first time two months ago, we are making immense progress and I’m sure this will only be the start for The Boro.”
