Match Preview: Sandhurst Town (A)

Toby Dickenson10 Oct - 15:29

The Boro take to the road as we’re Berkshire bound to face Sandhurst Town FC this weekend.

Fixture fifteen of our league campaign is fast approaching as we make the 40-mile journey into the town of Sandhurst and Bottom Meadow Stadium.

THE DETAILS
Sandhurst Town FC vs Hillingdon Borough FC
Cherry Red Records Combined Counties Football League
Bottom Meadow, Yorktown Road, GU47 9BJ
3:00pm Kick off, Saturday 11th October

CONTEXT
We’re Berkshire bound for our first away fixture of October and it’s our furthest journey yet as we face Sandhurst Town FC. Four wins from five games across all competitions is the standard set, with Gary Pitt and his squad aiming to maintain form as they show signs of ascending the league table.

Our rapidly approaching fixture comes off the back of our largest victory this season after ruining Penn & Tylers Green’s undefeated run with an emphatic 5-1 triumph. However, glory set aside, it’s full focus onto Sandhurst as we push on and into Berkshire with the aims of repeating last week’s dominance.

This weekend’s venue is the Bottom Meadow Stadium, tucked away in the small town of Sandhurst. Home to Bracknell FC, and of course this weekend’s opponents Sandhurst Town, their aim is to make a break and advance from their 14th position in the league compared to our 18th.

Sandhurst Town are a new opponent for ourselves, their relegation alongside Berks County from the North and South Premier Divisions of the Combined Counties League means a new challenge is up and coming for The Boro. And being the team to have played the least fixtures at their respective home this season, unpredictability sums up the approach to an exciting new challenge.

With both managers in their first season at the reins, Bob Ryan commands Sandhurst Town, with Gary Pitt set to cause a challenge for our hosting opponents.

“Following last weekend’s result, I’m rapidly building confidence in our squad. With the original target of settling in by Christmas, the boys have massively exceeded my expectations and I’m glad to be in the situation we’re in. All that aside, I look forward to our upcoming clash with Sandhurst and hope we can put in the same challenge that we’ve been presenting others with.”
