After months of speculation and the odd delay in construction activities, the club down at The Grove opened its doors to the public on Friday 27th June 2014 to a rapturous reception by the players and Houghton patrons alike. The entire building has received a full makeover, gone is the dividing wall from the bar to the lounge making the club a large, expansive area for all to enjoy a pre/during and post match drink. All customers through the door are welcomed by head stewardess Ingrid and her polite and professional bar staff.

As you can see from the photos all the ageing and tired soft furnishing have been replaced with new vibrant seating complimenting the colour scheme running throughout the club. The bar has been completely renovated along with a fresh lick of paint to the walls, a large wood burning stove will provide a warm, comfortable atmosphere come the winter months. The seating capacity of the club is approximately 80 with additional seating externally on the vast area of wood decking for the same amount of people. The offsite parking will easily cater for 80 cars.

Whats on Offer?
Well of course, exception cricket as displayed by all the Houghton teams in the 2014 season, obviously that is a given every Saturday but with 3 large televisions all major sporting events will be shown live from Premiership football, Champions League, World Cup, Euro Champions, Ashes and all England cricketing fixtures to name but a few, if its a sport and its live it will be shown. There are also 2 gaming machines in-house for those gamblers amongst you.
