This past Saturday, Huntsville opened their Spring season on the road against Nooga Black. While the previous match-up proved to be a pack dominated game, the backline would step up to be the defining aspect of Saturday's contest.
Cold Weather and some unfortunate handling errors by Huntsville would keep the score tied at 0-0 in the first half. While play seemed fairly equal in the first half, it could not be said for the second half.
Nooga Black would strike first and with the conversion, take the lead at 7-0. Huntsville had quickly responded by some impressive ball-handling and quick passing by the backline which would result in Brad Montgomery touching down Huntsville's first score in the corner. Another score would come shortly after by winger Paul Daigle and hard angles would prove difficult for fullback Ryan Roof and leave the score at 10-7 in favor of the Wild Turkeys.
The final scoring came from back to back scores from returning UK player and fly-half Shane Brown. After converting both scores, Huntsville would walk away the victors. Final score 24-7
