The Rhinos squad celebrated their first festival win on Sunday as they stormed to victory at the Stratford festival.
On a scorching hot day, the boys took on Bromsgrove B team and Stratford B team in the first round, getting off to a slow start with a 3-3 draw against Bromsgrove (with tries from Matt Moseley, Dan Washington and Seth Dockery) followed by a 6-3 win over Stratford (3 tries from Seth Dockery, 2 from Toby Hill and 1 from Matt Moseley).
But in the next round the team found their feet with an excellent show of teamwork to win 5-1 against Stratford A team, with 2 tries from Matt Moseley, and 1 each from Dan Washington, Henry Ball and Seth Dockery).
They then took on Bromsgrove A team and again won, this time 4-2 with tries from Matt Moseley, Dan Washington, Toby Hill and Toby Mansell). The victory meant a place in the final against Bromsgrove A team.
In the gripping and closely fought final, the teams were tied at 1-1 at half time.
However, a hungry and very determined Kings Norton team dug deep to score two more tries and leave the score 3-2 to the Rhinos with tries from Matt Moseley, Dan Washington and Toby Hill.
Coach Steve Washington said: "These boys have gone from strength to strength as the season has progressed and have come so very close to winning a festival in the past.
"But today was their day, and this was a thoroughly deserved win from a team who showed just what hard work, grit and determination can achieve.
"Both Andy and I are hugely proud of them all."
