The successful squad scoop another fabulous win at Moseley to end their tagging season on a high

It was the end to an amazing season for the Under 8s Rhinos on Sunday, May 1 when they stormed their way to their third successive festival win on a sunny but blustery day at Moseley.
The 10-man squad played six fixtures on the day in a league-style event; the last match of the season for the boys who will now move from TAG rugby to contact when the season resumes.

The players: Daniel Washington, Matthew Moseley, Toby Hill, Henry Ball, Henry Crook, Toby Mansell, Max King, Ben Bartlett, Seth Dockery and Harrison O'Neill played some great defensive rugby to win all six of their matches.

The first match against Moseley saw the Rhinos storm into action, constantly driving the home team back to win 6-4 with two tries for Toby Hill and Henry Ball and one each from Toby Mansell and Henry Crook.

Excellent team play and tagging gave them a 7-1 win over their next opponents Bournville (two tries each from Toby Hill and Matt Moseley and one each for Henry Ball, Dan Washington and Henry Crook).

Their next clash with Droitwich saw a nail-biting and thrilling match. But the Rhinos kept their nerve and resolve to win 2-1 (two tries from Toby Hill).

The boys seemed to step up another gear for their match against Birmingham and Solihull Bees with great team playing giving them 5 tries (try scorers Matt Moseley x2, Dan Washington, toby Mansell and Henry Ball) to the Bees' 3.

They continued their winning streak with a 5-0 win over Malvern (three tries from Toby Hill, and one each from Matt Moseley and Henry Crook).

For their final fixture the Rhinos faced Hereford. The boys were clearly tired and starting to make silly mistakes, but managed to keep their standard of play up to win 6-4 (four tries from Matt Moseley and two from Toby Hill).

They played six matches and won six which left them winners of the Under 8 section of the festival.
A well deserved and much celebrated win: And one which has left their coaches Steve Washington and Andy Moseley brimming with pride!
