Utility player Darren Alexander rejoined the club on the eve of the new season after completing a coaching stint in the USA whist central defender Paul Booth has rejoined the club after recovering from a serious ankle injury.

Alexander originally signed from Hednesford Town in the summer of 2007 where he was the Pitmen's leading scorer in the 2006/07 season.

He has also played for Eccleshall, Rocester, Chasetown and AFC Telford United but was sidelined from November 2007 to February 2009 after sustaining a serious knee injury.

After briefly returning to the side he moved on to Stafford Rangers and then Hednesford Town last season before marking his return with a late equaliser against Spalding United on Saturday.

Booth originally moved to Harrison Park in September 2005 following his release from Oldham Athletic, where he had played for both the youth and reserve sides. Paul had an outstanding first season for Blues picking up the Player’s Player of the Year award.

Since leaving the club he enjoyed a spell at Leigh RMI before moving on to Witton Albion last season where he sustained a serious ankle injury last season.

He has now recovered from surgery and continues to train with the club to regain his legendary fitness levels.
