Another fantastic week of competition . . .

The Leyland Warriors Y9 Schools Cup competition provided further evidence of the improvement in the standard of play every year, with some fantastic tries scored throughout the afternoon.

Accrington Academy, All Hallows Catholic High School, Balshaws C of E High School, Haslingden High School, Wellfield High School and Worden Academy all gave a good account of themselves in a round-robin format, with every team winning at least one of their games.

After some tight and thrilling matches providing no fewer than 6 draws, the stage was set for an all-Leyland final between Balshaws and Worden.

In what was arguably the best game of the competition this year so far, the Year 9 Cup went to Balshaws after a superbly played 2-1 win over Worden, with both teams promoting the ball superbly.

As always, Leyland Warriors wish to thank the schools who took part for their commitment to this event at such a busy time of the academic year. We also wish to thank the volunteer match officials who did a fantastic job in all 18 matches.

Play with Pride!
