Manchester United Supporters FC are the officially recognised Supporters team of Manchester United.
The team was founded in 1996 to compete in the Supporters Euronet tournament in the build up to Euro 96.
The team currently plays in the IFA Supporters league, a league aimed to build friendly rivalry between Supporters, with games played on thre morning of the main teams corresponding fixture. Games take part in both a British and an English Supporters league.
Team History/Honours
In the summer of 2007, the Manchester United Supporters Team became the inaugural winners of Stockfest, a supporters tournament organised and hosted by Stockport County FC.
In 2008 the team comprising of a newly assembled squad of supporters attending the Champions League final made its first venture into Europe and participated in a friendly match against Spartak Moscow Supporters at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow on the day of the 2008 European Cup Final. The game was attended by dignatories such as United legends Paddy Crerand and Andrei Kanchelskis, however in front of a 500 strong crowd and worldwide media, United supporters went down to a 3-1 defeat (Pictures from the game can be seen in the gallery section).
In 2009 the supporters team won the '1909 Replayed Cup' which saw the Manchester United fans take on the Bristol City fans in a replay of the 1909 FA Cup final. Both teams wore replica kits from 1909 and the game kicked off exactly 100yrs to the day.
In November 2009, Utd supporters took on a team of CSKA Moscow supporters at Manchester Uniteds The Cliff training academy, before their sides respective Champions League fixture. Utd Supporters team saw 1st half guest appearances from ex Man Utd players Clayton Blackmore, David May and Andy Richie, who helped United supporters record an 11-2 victory. The game was covered by national and International media and the Utd team took to the pitch in shirts that portrayed the Kick Racism out of Football message.
In November 2010 a hastily assembled team that contained 4 regular players travelled to Glasgow Rangers training ground to take on a team of Rangers Supporters. The hastily assembled squad who met each other for the first time in the dressing room put on a brave show before going down 6-1 to their Rangers counterparts. Again the game received much media coverage and was attended by Paddy Crerand, Mark Hateley, Sandy Jardin and Jimmy Nicholl. (Pics from the event are in the gallery).
In 2013 the team won the Worldnet Plate competition, beating Darlington Supporters on penalties.
The team has played on Old Trafford, most recently on the Tezo's pitch day in May 2022.
