This week demonstrates the demands of playing football at our level - last Saturday having travelled East to play Cambridge City in the FA Trophy we now travel 'Up North' to play Sheffield FC on Saturday 19th October in a League game.
Reflecting on last Saturday's game:
With a number of players unavailable Manager Martyn Davies had to reshuffle the team formation.
With Harvey Howell departing to sign for Newcastle Town, the ever versatile Matty Ballard took up a more familiar role at centre forward and there was a welcome return of Tyrell McFarlane.
Cambridge took the lead but MDTFC pulled it back with a goal from young Levi Hunter - his first goal for MDTFC. Unfortunately in the second half Cambridge sealed a 2-1 victory courtesy of a deflected shot.

For those supporters that do not follow Twitter, here are details of the line up v Cambridge City FC:
It is perhaps an old cliche, but we can now concentrate on the League - although the financial rewards from a decent Cup run would have provided vital income and media interest.
Turning to our game on Saturday 19th October - when we travel to play our old friends Sheffield FC in a League game - Sheffield FC are no strangers to MDTFC having played alongside us in The Evo-Stik First Division South.
Sheffield FC are 'The World's Oldest Football Team - on the 14th July 2011 they sold the 'World's Oldest Football Rule Book' at auction for £881,250 - I wonder who they played in the their first ever football match?
The last time the two teams met was in Season 2017/2018 when the honours and the goals were shared:
Sheffield FC have made a very solid start to the Season having accrued 19 Points from 11 Games; the current League Standings are as follows:
Sheffield FC - 6th Played 11 - Points 19
MDTFC - 20th Played 12 - Points 3
Just a reminder that we are at 'Home' on Saturday 26th October when the visitors are Loughborough Dynamo.
