Collins on board for the run in........

I'm delighted to announce the signing of Tom Collins from Hanwell Town, following a successful 7 day approach.  Tom is an accomplished forward who has managed to score 15 goals in just 18 appearances so far this season.  Prior to his spell at Hanwell, Tom has played at the top end of the non-league pyramid with Hayes & Yeading and Stockport County.

Tom is a player I have been interested in for a while, and I'm chuffed to finally be able to bring him to the club.  Clearly this season we have been great defensively and I feel as though we have, at times, had something missing form our attack.  Tom, in my opinion, brings the qualities to help sharpen us in the final third.

We have some big games left this season to firstly try and secure our berth in the playoffs, and to then hopefully succeed in that end of season shootout.  I want us to have more competition for places, but more importantly I want the ability to modify our formation and approach for games to improve our attacking play and make us less predictable.  The addition of Tom undoubtedly gives us a better chance to achieve our target.

Also signing Bostik League forms is young goalkeeper Samuel Szymczyk.  Sam is a promising young keeper that I have been aware of for a while and has been playing at Step 7 this season.  For me, as we approach the registration deadline, it is imperative that we have 3 quality goalkeepers registered, and with Sams signing we are now thankfully in that position.  Under Phil Brown's tutelage, I'm convinced that we see the emergence of a top goalkeeper.

Both will be available for selection from Saturday, and I'm sure you will all join me in welcoming them to the club.
