Marlow's return to the Isthmian League was marked with a comfortable victory at Oak Tree Road with goals coming from Charlie Samuel (2) and Devontae Romeo.
The Marlow side contained many familiar faces with most of the side from last season returning but a few new faces were on display with Tristan Campbell in the starting eleven and Lewis Workman and Idris Kamara on the bench. Added to that were returnees to Oak Tree Road in Devontae Romeo, Charlie Samuel, Jordan Brown and Chid Onokwai and the first two of these provided the goals that won the points for the Blues.
Marlow in truth were not unduly threatened by Molesey other than forcing two goal-line clearances - one in each half - and so Simon Grant enjoyed one of his quieter afternoons whilst the first of Charlie Samuel's goals was an absolute screamer coming in the 19th minute from a shot that flew past the away from 30 yards meaning that we may already have witnessed the " goal of the season" in the very first outing.
Charlie's second was much more straightforward from closer range with Devontae receiving a diagonal ball inside the Molesey area, quickly controlling and then stroking the ball past the visiting keeper meaning that the Blues were able to see out the last half-hour in some comfort.
In all a rather promising afternoon - we now look forward to Saturday's trip to one of the pre-season favourites in Tooting & Mitcham on Saturday for what looks to be a more demanding task.
