Strong win for Matlock

Matlock produced another good display as they took on visitors Chesterfield, although the score line may look like a mismatch it was not the case especially in the scrum as Matlock where under pressure from a strong pack.

Matlock quickly realised that the beating of Chesterfield was to be in the backs as the first try came from a strong individual run by Harry Boyd who went over under the sticks. This was quickly followed by a good score from Andrew Eastwood with Sam Page slotting the extra two. Just before half time the game was stopped for a period as Matlock scrum half James Marsden took a knock to the head, thankfully he was ok and the game was allowed to continue.

The second half followed the first with Matlock using quick ball to from any scrum to feed the backs, John Statham usually at No2 was moved out to the backs due to the first half injury and it wasn't long until he went over to score. Harry Boyd picked up his second and Will Molyneux also went over for five points. The second half finished with Harry Boyd making his hatrick. Sam Page kicked all four conversions making it a good result for Matlock.
