Matlock took on Melbourne down at Cromford Meadows with a good display of Rugby the first half was totally dominated by Matlock with John Statham going over for a try and Sam Page following up. The next try came through Will Molynieux after a mistake by Melbourne on their own try line. Joe Cruttenden powered over for the third after a pick an go from the base of the scrum this was quickly followed by Harry Boyd by an individual try from inside his own half with Sam Page converting the extra two. Just on the stroke of half time Sam page slotted a long range kick for the extra three.

The second half kicked off with with Melbourne asleep as Joe Cruttenden picked up his second try straight from the kickoff. Melbourne came back with a try which was quickly cancelled as George Healy crashed over for a try. The last try of the game through Andrew Eastwood with Sam Page converting the extra two.
