John Jackson was a popular and hard working member of the Society who died suddenly just after Christmas 2009. John was a MHRA Training Officer and qualified FA Tutor. He was also Vice Chairman of the Society.

A Memorial Trophy in John's name was established at the end of the 2009/10 season. It is presented at the AGM by the Committee to their selected Young or improved Referee of the Year. This recognises John's commitment to helping and advising newly qualified referees.
