The Ladies Football Tournament which took place on Sunday 5th June proved to be a great success.

With the weather hotter than a greenhouse, all teams put on a great display of quality football.

Mold Alex would like to thank all the 12 teams who competed for the coveted trophy and played their part in a friendly yet competitive tournament. The eventual winners were Rhyl Ladies B who overcame Rhyl Ladies A in a tense final.

Rhyl Ladies B won Group A with Ellesmere Port Ladies coming second. Rhyl Ladies A won Group B with a very young Bethel Ladies finishing runners up. In the semi finals Rhyl A drew 1-1 with Ellesmere Port, Rhyl going through on pens whilst Rhyl B overcame Bethel 2-0. In the final it was 1-1 after full time so the contest was decided on penalties which Rhyl B won.

Mold Alex would like to wish the young lady from Brickfield who needed medical assistance, a speedy recovery.
