Wests 14 V 12 Sharks

Norland were playing for two points to maintain their push for the league title and the annual Liam Normington trophy. Wests elected to play with the wind behind them and kicked to keep the Sharks in their own half. Norland came close to scoring first with Sam Sanders throwing a long ball to the winger not realising he was over the line which the referee ruled forward.
Wests got on the score sheet with Andy Finch getting in at the corner and it remained like that until the break. Wests increased the lead with Kris Parker breaking down the left and dummying the cover to score. Norland were now getting a lot of possession resulting in Paul Shaw breaking clear and putting Dean Hines over only to find the referee ruling forward again.
Wests increased the lead with full back Kieran Jones joining the line to score under the posts and convert his try.
Norland now hit back keeping Wests pinned in their own half until the defence broke with Danny Gardiner going on a solo run to score Carl Pettman added the goal.
Within five minutes Norland were over again Danny Gardiner avoiding would be tacklers to force his way over again Pettman goaled to take them within two points of Wests.
It was now all the Sharks battering the line with minutes to go Keenan Stephenson was sin binned for disputing the ref,s decision, still the Sharks hit the line but Wests defence held to regain the trophy back from Norland. The Man of the Match was Danny Gardiner.
