Dear Members,
As a committee, we’re keen to start sharing more regular updates with you about the club’s progress. A lot has been happening behind the scenes over the past few months, so as this is our first update, there’s plenty to share!
Playing
Ash Johnson has settled in brilliantly and is already hard at work planning for the upcoming season. Our 1st XV has moved into a new league, bringing some exciting fresh fixtures (although, unfortunately, no Manor Park this year!).
We continue our S&C relationship with TPP going into the new season, mixing on field training with gym work, to keep the players in good shape and injury free for the season.
Our summer touch sessions have been a great success, with three games running simultaneously and strong participation from our junior players.
We’re looking to grow the women’s rugby section – we’re currently seeking a new lead to help drive this forward and hope to have more news soon.
Walking rugby continues to thrive, with both training and games going from strength to strength.

Academy
• Sunday Fun & Fitness sessions, led by Scott, have been well received this summer.
• We’re launching a formal strength and conditioning program with TPP for U13s and above, starting at the beginning of August. Giving the young players and age appropriate introduction into strength and conditioning.
• With the help of Ash Johnson we are launching a module based training schedule for the academy, which will ensure all coaches coach consistently throughout the age groups.
• A brand new U16s team has been established – we’re excited to welcome them and encourage everyone to show their support as they begin the season.
• Our Girls U13 and U14 teams enjoyed a successful year and we’re focused on building further on that momentum.
