A JOINT 3RD FINISH WITH 50 POINTS AFTER WINNING 12 OUT OF LAST 14!

A very good 2nd season in charge of the flagship, for The Gaffer and his trusty lieutenent. Despite being bottom of the table after the first 4 games, after poor results v Old Blacks and Chadderton, a 4 goal salvo from eventual top scorer Matthew Binns, saw the maroons first 3 points in a 6 3 victory over rivals Chaddertonians. October saw a meagre return of 4 points and the pressure began to mount for the management and players. "someone will get a tonking soon", was the gaffers cry although he couldn't have asked for a better game to do it, than the runaway leaders North Walkden, where the maroons romped to a 4-0 victory away from home. This sparked the marroons season into life and alongside new signings, Josh Briddon, Gaz Hill and Daniel Dunn - the flagship produced a fantastic 2nd half of the season, losing out to bogey team Accrington twice before taking 36 out of 42 points! A remarkable sequence of results, finishing only 8 points off the eventual champions North Walkden.
