Teamwork Counts Whatever The Situation

As the club prepare for the forthcoming games, thoughts also are cast upon the upcoming Remembrance Day.



None more so for our fitness coach Gary Devonport, by Gary's 18th birthday he was already embarking on his first operational tour taking part in British forces mission to remove Saddam Hussian from power in Iraq.

Gary went on to serve for another seven and a half months in 2004 for Iraq's First National elections. Gary said "it's a time of year where thoughts are cast to friends that are no longer with us, the ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the name of this country and also to the fallen and injured in past and future operations".

"Time in the forces is very team orientated and I hope that all the teams at Ossett from the juniors through to the senior team can realise that team is a very important influence in been successful, you have got to be willing to give everything for your team mate in the pursuit of your goal, weather that be a Tuesday night game on a rainy pitch or a battlefield in a far flung country”.

“Never give up on your mates".
