The scoreline didn’t reflect the contribution the visitors made at Cross Green, and at times Bradford had the hosts on the back foot. Initially they conceded a spate of penalties before Brett Mitchell gave Harry Skelton an easy run to the line on the quarter hour mark. Shortly afterwards, Elliott Morgan put Chris Jackson through, Joe Rowntree converting both.
An intercept pass by Lance Taylor in his own half saw him race to the line, which he converted to further reduce the deficit. Spurred on by this score, the Bees had a good period either side of the half-time whistle, Kati Tuipulotu pivotal.
As the game hotted up, and following multiple changes at half-time, Otley’s dominance began to tell. The home started to kick the ball long and were rewarded when Bees had little option but to take the ball over the line. From the 5 metre scrum the ball went along the line for Ben Magee to score. Four minutes later a penalty was put into the corner and Brett Mitchell took the line out ball. From the driving maul, Henry Watson was driven over.
Continuing to kick the ball, a wicked bounce from a Josh Hall kick from within his own half denied Ben Magee his second try, however Danny Adu was following up close behind and he went onto score. As the game came to a close Ben did get his second after some neat interplay between him and Ben Smith.
