Another good display from the Under 12s

Up again were Athboy, and after a comfortable with for Ratoath in the away fixture earlier in the season, Athboy were looking to turn things around really upped their game.

Ratoath started well with a few good tries - both of which came from good strong work up the middle - before letting the ball out wide.
Back came Athboy though to take the lead - they found the holes in our defense and exploited them with some strong running & off-loading.

Athboy's rucking was very strong at this stage of the game, but in fairness to our pack, they responded well. Our front row carried really well up the middle and made the hard yards. Our 2nd row started to pile on the pressure at ruck-time with some really brave and strong clear-outs. The pressure eventually told and back we came to lead at the break with a few really strong line breaks through the middle of the park.

It was more of the same in the second half - which was very even. Again Athboy started strongly and took their scores really well, but as with the start of the game, once we started to offload and pass the ball wide we came back with some late dashing scores to win the game.

Once again we had a great turnout - and with 15 players to Athboy's 10 - our rolling subs were really keen to rejoin the fray. We done to forwards Ben, Emmet, Gavin, James, Matthew, Ross, Ryan & Tom, and backs Adam, Brian, Cian B, Cian C, Harry, Max & Laurie.
