The club was first formed in 1929.
The first elected President was Mr Montague Jennings who owned a local sports shop with the Hon. Secretary being Mr Hubert Hattam .
The clubs first captain was Mr Ralph Hattam who was also the clubs Hon. Treasurer. Hubert Hattam remained Hon. Sec until 1934/35.
From 1934/35 P.J Roy Martin held the position until his death in 1966.
The club ceased playing during the Second World War and a number of playing members lost their lives during the conflict.
It was reformed in 1945/46 and played rugby on a filed loaned to the club by Mr William John Roberts of Clijah farm. In 1948/49 the club moved from Clijah farm to play its rugby on their present ground at Trewirgie.
In 1969 the club acquired its present clubhouse at Station Hill which still remains the clubs headquarters.
In the past the club has produced a number of players who went on to play rugby at a higher level, mostly to our neighbours at Redruth RFC.
One of these players was the late Bill Bishop OBE who also played for Cornwall. Bill later went on to become President of the RFU in 1995/96, he chaired the Bishop Commission, which was responsible for introducing a league system in England. Other players to have played for Cornwall include Les Semmens, Ray Peters and Reg Carter.
