Coaches' Profiles 1 of 3

1. Adam Jones-Bradburn

I’ve been involved with the club for nearly 7 years - 4 of those playing. I found out about the club at the graduate induction and joined to keep fitness up and once down loved being part of the club.
I started playing rugby when 11 back home in Manchester and continued until University then took a break before joining Rolls-Royce RFC.
My favourite coaching moment was after a few close games where we were struggling to convert the pressure into points. After changing the team around and working on getting the ball wide in training we got a great win against Belper - seeing the effort from training flow into the game was a great.
My best playing was split between getting payers player in my first season and then getting promoted twice in 3 years with the team.
Coaching qualifications: Level 2 and First Aid.
For me coaching is most rewarding when I get to see people enjoy rugby and improve throughout the season. I remember the enjoyment I got when playing, so I always aim to make training and games enjoyable. At the end of the day we all play for the enjoyment of the game. Hopefully I achieve this.
I started coaching as I had to stop playing through injury but wanted to stay part of the club. It took a while to get used to; being on the side lines rather than playing but now I see a different side of the game. I had to adapt so pushed to get my coaching qualifications which has been a great help. I now love to challenge the way we do things, I like to mix things up and enjoy seeing players develop.
Other should join as this is a great club. We have a cracking group of lads and I’d like to think have some great training sessions.
