Town won the toss and elected to field first, putting Doncaster in to bat. In an innings built upon an impressive 85 from Jack Woodiwiss, Doncaster went on to score 202 with all overs completed. Tuffail Dar's economic bowling and brace of wickets was the pick of the Rotherham attack as he went for just 2 runs an over from his 11 overs bowled.

In to bat, Rotherham started strongly as their opening three batsmen scored a combined 135 with Muhammad Virad Mujahid knocking a fluent 74 from 98 balls. They found further runs harder to come by however, but stayed on top of the required run rate as they batted out the remainder of the game and ultimately hitting the target with a couple of overs to spare.
