How do you like your opposition goalkeepers?

Sale 2s were able to field a stronger team than the previous week. We had a sub. We welcomed back Zo, Dan Pratt, J Furber, M Kularatne and M Earl. We also had the honour of the presence G Sterlini due to a 2 way swap with the 1s for Ian Ellis, and the glorious Gaz Weatherley in goal.

Unfortunately it wasn't to be a glorious afternoon, despite Sale edging many of the exchanges. Conceding sloppy goals has been the hallmark of the mens 2s, and this fixture was no exception. However, there were many positives: of special mention was the performance of Zohaib Ahmed, who gave all Bowdon defenders a torrid time and with his sublime goal richly deserved his man of the match. Nick Linehan fired many shots on target and managed to convert one into a goal, and the fact that we created so many chances is cause for hope for the future. Dan Pratt even managed a goal from the Pratt zone- beautiful. The opposition keeper did an amazing job of saving pretty much everything we threw at him- curses! We also had the misfortune to losing Martin Earl early in the second half after a Bowdon forward decided to mid-air strike his hand - the result is a metacarpal fracture and the end of Martin's season.
