Wendens Ambo match report.

18 brave boys faced the rain and cold winds to take on Wendens Ambo on Sunday. We had three team's again this week and they only played two games as the weather got worse and the remaining game was called off.

Team Paul

In the first game the boy's ran in some nice tries and tagged well gaining a few 7 tag turnovers. The second game was a bit more difficult as frozen hands found it hard to grasp tags. My player of the day played very well in both games tagging, running well in support and leading his team in defence. Well done to Kai Robson you showed great leadership.

Team – Oz and Andrew

So this week we had the services of an U12 coach to bring some experience to the team. I think it was fair to say Oz (and I) was impressed with how the team moved forward.
Forward play was strong – some not bad use of the pitch, looking (and finding) support. So it that respect top marks.
We struggled to get hold of the tags – also compounded by some dubious hand offs (which technically is not allowed – Shelford boys were sharper at this I suspect it’s something that Wendens are still working through) tags being slippery when wet and hands being damn cold.
And considering it was arctic cold with a wind that chilled to the bones the Team did well playing as a team up until we called it a day due to weather.
All boys on our team are worth a mention – Chris, Callum, Charlie (Bear), Adam, Alberto – but this week considered Man of the Match to be Murray – for good team play – not taking all the runs – making runs where possible, supporting and keeping his chin up in the bitter weather. But really all did well.
