Sidlesham were formed in 1921 but due to financial problems folded in the mid thirties. In 1946, the club reformed and moved to the Recreation Ground in 1950.

Over the years, many improvements were made and at Christmas 1977 the club house was opened. In 1985, after much hardwork and fundraising, Sidlesham became the first West Sussex League side to have floodlights installed.

The desire to progress led to the appointment of Joe Laidlaw, an ex Portsmouth player as manager. Joe was not the first ex pro to play for Sidlesham, in the early 80's another former Portsmouth player Dave Monks turned out.

Sidlesham have had some great seasons for such a small village club and have seen some very good players come and go.

The finest season in the clubs history was 1999-2000 when Sidlesham were Crowned County League Division 2 Champions and Division 2 Cup Winners.

During the 2008/09 Manager Andy Probee left the club and Dave Daniel took over at Sidlesham but were relegated from Division Two and senior football. In 2009/2010 the club finished 5th from bottom of Division 3 and manager Dave Daniel left,former Midhurst manager Malcolm Harwood became manager for the start of the 2010 - 2011 season.
