About us

Introduction
Slimbridge YFC are a local youth standard chartered football club based in the Cam & Dursley area in Gloucestershire who concentrate on developing young players so that they can enjoy playing football as well as improving their skills and potential.
The club is run on a completely voluntary basis where individuals give up their time to enable youngsters and teenagers to play football.
The club currently has 4 squads; U8's, U12’s team, U13’s team, and U15’s team.
All of our managers are a minimum of FA level 1 qualified.

Our Teams
Our teams are entered into local leagues.

We also want to increase the number of teams we have across all age groups, which range from U6’s to U16’s, so we would encourage anyone who wants to be involved with football to get in touch. All necessary training is provided by the club.

Training
We run training sessions on a weekly basis and use excellent Rednock all weather facility throughout the winter months, this allows training to continue no matter what the weather brings. Our season starts in September and finishes end of March beginning of April, however our managers may continue to train throughout most of the summer months and also enter their teams into competitions over the summer.

Slimbridge Adult Football Club
We are strongly inked with Slimbridge AFC who are based at Wisloe Road, Cambridge Glos. SAFC provide training sessions to our players on a regular basis. SYFC players are also entitled to free entry to any SAFC home games. Our long term goal is to produce players that can go onto to play for SAFC and for us to be the feeder club for them.

Our Facilities
We play our home matches at the Slimbridge Playing Fields, where we have excellent pitches and facilities. We have a pavilion with changing rooms and showers as well as kitchen facilities.

Fund Raising

In order to ensure that we can provide the best facilities and equipment for the players we actively fund raise.

At most home games we provide tea, coffee and cakes for sale to supporters both home and away. This helps towards our fund raising.

We have recently been successful in obtaining a grant so that we can purchase new goals and nets as well as a new storage facility for all of our equipment.
