A good start with three massive hits from Colby Short putting the wind up Drifters and pushing them back to their own 22 before a chip through from Charlie Turner and mounting pressure forced a penalty. Max Miles kicked it to the corner but Drifters won the ball and successfully cleared.
Shortly afterwards a penalty was awarded to Drifters and they successfully kicked for the lead (3-0)
A great hard-hitting restart to Slough next put Drifters under extreme pressure and forced a penalty to Slough, Max Miles doing the honours to level the scores (3-3)
Another penalty to Slough for dangerous play by Drifters was again kicked by Miles, this time giving Slough the lead (3-6) however a penalty to Drifters on 40mins saw them level up and the teams went into the break 6-6.
Drifters were straight out of the blocks in the second half, making an immediate push for the Slough line until they went over. Conversion missed (11-6)
A penalty then saw Drifts lengthen their lead even further (14-6)
Drifters then broke through the Greenies defence twice more, once held up but the second successfully scored and converted. (21-6)
FT: Drifters 21 - 6 Slough
A concrete effort but just out of reach for Slough and a hard game for both sides. Matt RABIASZ, Drifters Captain, wished Slough good luck and to keep up the hard work as this was so far their toughest game. A few old friends met again in the field. Very graceful and all look forward to the return match.
