On a wet muddy pitch Southam started up the slope and held a sharp
Shiston for a turbulent first 20 minutes before falling to a first
Shipston try, Southam replied with a Tolley penalty and Shipston came back
with another well taken try. Just before the half Southam with some good
pressure forced another Tolley penalty, but succumbe to another Shipston
try right on the half, turning at 17 - 6.
In the second half Southam dominated the tight, taking six against the
head, but failed to use that dominance to take control, continually
allowing Shipston back into the game, with slack kicking and passing.
The only score being another Tolley penalty.
