SQUAD UPDATE
GOALKEEPERS & DEFENCE

Mainly unchanged from last season, 2013/14 player of the season Joe Davis has continued to impress between the sticks whilst more regular appearances from Grant Packham and Luke O’Connell have helped keep the backline secure. John Glover has pushed up in front of the back 3 nowadays and sweeps just in front. Brandon Folkes importance to the team and continual improvement highlighted by the time spent out suspended. Alex Mills deputises well as left back when needed. Tom Bird and Alex Coppleman have both moved between the 2nds and 1sts this season with Geek the more regular player currently.

HALFS (MIDFIELD)
Whilst skipper Matty Vokes is a constant in the middle with Gloves behind him, it’s notable that the team have stronger performances when the mercurial talents of Mark Ansell are added to the mix. Nick Slater and Ryan Nicholas are exciting attacking halves who always bring a threat with swift running and both are solid when tackling back. Paul Glover’s return this season has also been a welcome one as he can play right across the middle. Alex Mills can also patrol the left flank and break up opposition attacks when needed

FORWARDS
With the loss of James Kifford this season the 1sts said goodbye to a player who is always good for goals, however the emergence of Macca means he is not too badly missed. Anthony brings an extra dimension in attack and Jamie Bird (having a quiet season by his standards!) is always a useful targetman. Obviously Nick Slater and Ryan N can play further forward when required and in terms of other forwards Steve Case is pushing for a place in the 1s with some excellent performances for the 2nds this year. Mike Goatcher has slipped down the pecking order but is continuing to impress in the 2nds and is a good choice to call on when needed as he is now comfortable playing at the 1sts level.
